I am a fourth-year undergraduate student in the Faculty of Engineering at Kitami Institute of Technology, and a member of the Polymer Materials Laboratory. My current work focuses on polyimide materials, especially particle formation methods and their potential applications.
Alongside my background in materials engineering, I am interested in how large language models can support self-directed English learning for learners who study English as a second or foreign language. My interest in this area has grown from my experience studying abroad and working as an English tutor, where I noticed a gap between test-oriented English learning and real-world communication. In real communication, learners need to create their own sentences, organize their thoughts, and respond in real time without relying on translation tools or disrupting the flow of conversation.
In future graduate research, I hope to work on educational LLMs for second-language writing. My research interests include keystroke logging, revision-process analysis, learner-state estimation, and process-aware feedback. Through this work, I aim to explore how AI systems can support learners not only by giving answers or corrections, but also by helping them reflect on their thinking, notice deeper questions, and communicate their ideas more clearly and coherently.
